Intern with Pause!

Did you know that 7 years ago Pause started with one part-time staff and one intern? Over the years, Pause has shifted, grown, and expanded to meet the needs of families. One constant has been the continuous support from our student intern team!

What does it mean to be a Pause Intern?

Pause internships give students a taste of how a nonprofit gets creative about serving families with extra needs. This is a learning experience and will include: access to the newest trauma responsive training and resilience building interaction strategies, and hands on learning experience that provide opportunities for the practical application of contemporary compassion care.

Who are Pause internships for?
Pause internships are open to college students with a strong work ethic, a passion for families with extra needs and an interest in making a difference in their community. Internships are open to all majors!

What positions are available?

  1. Pause Guide: For students looking to gain more experience working 1:1 with families and kiddos, develop leadership skills and create legacy projects for Pause!

  2. Respite On Demand Coordinator: For students who have an interest in leading a program and developing resilience based activities to provide respite to families.

What do past interns say about their experience as a Pause intern?
“Being an intern with Pause was definitely a highlight of my college career. From gaining first-hand experience in the non-profit sector to learning how to connect people to local services and actually making an impact on so many families, Pause was much more than just a degree requirement or resume booster. It was so inspiring working with a team of people dedicated to changing lives for the better. Not only did I grow academically and professionally during my semester with Pause, I also developed so many strengths that I know will help me in all aspects of life.”
— Evelyn, Former Pause Intern

We are looking to expand our reach to find the perfect fit for these roles! Adding interns to the Pause team means more rest, support, connection and fun for families with extra needs! CAN DO - help out your Pause team by sharing this flyer with THREE friends that might know someone who would be interested in interning with Pause.
