Pause Family Firsts

Pop quiz! Would you rather attend an event or an experience? Pause votes experience! Creating an experience encapsulates senses, emotions and creates memories. Families have many options to attend family events - but when our families come to Pause, we want to turn those simple events into elaborate experiences for the whole family to enjoy!

During the summer, Pause hosts family fun events in the community to give families an opportunity to share fun with each other and to connect with other Pause families. We know when families have fun together it can have some serious benefits! Our personal favorites are creating happy memories, building self-esteem and strengthening family bonds.

Just a couple weeks ago, 58 families joined Pause at AMC West Chester to watch The Bad Guys! Although it wasn’t Pause’s first time at the movie theater, it was the first time getting to watch a movie on the big screen for many of our kiddos! Going to the movie theater for the first time can be super overwhelming and overstimulating with all of the sounds and the bright lights for our kids with sensory sensitivities. With accommodations from AMC, Pause kiddos were able to experience a new way to share fun with their families and each other in a safe, nonjudgmental and sensory friendly environment.

We weren’t done having fun there! On July 4th, Pause families joined the Liberty Township annual 4th of July Parade! It was Pause’s first time walking in the annual parade and we wanted our families to join us and cheer us on! Families were able to pick up party packs the week prior which included fun 4th of July goodies and BINGO cards with different parade elements to look for to help keep kids engaged.  We aren’t sure who had more fun - our families watching the parade or our staff walking in the parade! Word on the street is that Pause was voted “Best Parade Vehicle” by attendees! It may or may not have been the gigantic patriotic dog on top of our amazing System Administrator’s (Amy Rednour) Jeep! Check it out!

Going the extra mile for our families is what we do because they are worth it! What can look like a simple event is really filled with intentionality, individuality and most importantly love, to create a family experience. Memories over time can build a legacy so it’s important that families have access to fun in a way that will have kiddos begging their parents to come back again.

This is CAN DO.  This is COMMUNITY.  This is YOUR SUPPORT.
