Unlimited Opportunities
Kiddos with differing needs thrive in learning environments when they feel supported and their needs are being met. Thanks to brain science and years of training for our team, we know the importance of pairing an up-regulating activity with a down-regulating activity to help children feel safe, seen, and heard. This framework has been built into Pause programming for years, but this past Sunday we were able to expand this thinking to our new space and brand new program, Unlimited! Unlimited was born through our growing partnership with Center Pointe and brings the same kind of flexibility and accommodations many students receive in school to their learning on Sunday mornings!
Why is this so revolutionary? Because we are thinking about Sunday morning experiences differently. Instead of a standard Sunday school classroom or small group, kids have choices. Learning will be offered through videos, music, center based activities like art, science and STEM and everyone will receive gross motor break time in our ALL NEW EVENT SPACE!
To make this all happen we need volunteers to give about an hour to our kids Sunday mornings. There are several opportunities for volunteers including:
One to One Buddy: Partner with a child and work one on one with them in their small group to complete the morning's center activities. These kiddos typically have more complex needs and are super fun!
Small Group LEADER: (IMPACT PARTNER POSITION - Full academic year commitment - Aug. 22, 2021 through May 22, 2022. Subs list provided for limited times you cannot be in attendance.) Lead the same small group of kids each Sunday through the 1 hour program schedule. Responsibilities will also include leading small group prayer time and connecting with parents at the end of the morning at pick-up. Activities and prayer time are simple and everything is prepped and ready for you each week including scripts of what to say! To see an example click here!
Small Group HELPER: Assist the Small Group Leader - help children complete activities like crafts, games and activities to reinforce the bible story of the day. All activities will be prepped, super simple and ready to go!
Activity Station Leader: Host an activity station and assist kids who choose your assigned activity. Examples include bible verse practice while navigating an obstacle course, creating Play-doh animals or digging through a sensory bin to learn more about the bible story of the week, creating crafts or painting.
