What. A. Summer.

We’ve had a lot of big days in Pause world this year - from becoming our own 501c3, to launching a new website, to moving out of our old office space. But Sunday was probably the BIGGEST day yet! Pause hosted and Open House to display the 8,200 sq ft Pause now gets to call home.

This home will be used to support families not just twice per month, but daily.
Our home will host:

  • In-person Family Conversations to find unique ways to support families.

  • Our new Respite On Demand program where families can schedule a time to have a break during the week.

  • Our classic Pause respite events - Parent’s Day & Night Out.

  • Thrive Night - connection events for caregivers.

  • Annual Family Fun events like the Holiday Shoppe and the Easter Eggstravaganza.

  • Our new Pause Unlimited ministry program on Sundays.

What’s this space look like? What’s it made up of? Let’s go on a tour:

  1. A nursery for our kiddos 0-2. Play areas that include all the favorite toys our families asked for! Baby dolls, train tracks, a basketball hoop and a host of other learning toys. Plenty of baby equipment, climbing mats, and safe floor space for our youngest kiddos too!

  2. The Clubhouse: Our preschool+ friends have a completely decked out room just for them. Lots of space to imagine, discover and play. This room is also prepped and ready for our preschool readiness academy coming next fall!

  3. Reflections: Quiet sensory room with aquarium murals, places to hide, swing and play. Lowlights and soft places to land make this a favorite place for kiddos who need a break from the hustle and bustle.

  4. Explorations: Relaxation area full of crash pads, sensory chairs, quiet activities and fidgets galore. Ready to play? Kids can use the light table, sensory table, lego table or find a game or puzzle to do with a friend!

  5. Discovery: Our art, STEM, science and creative arts room. Kids choose from the endless list of supplies and create until their heart's content!

  6. Loft: Our teen space for kids 12+. Video game system, pool table, pop-a-shot, skee ball, board games, plenty of places to hang with friends and more! We also cannot confirm or deny, but word on the street is there could also be a delivery coming of a couple popular arcades.

  7. Backyard: Our gross motor gym! Giant tree house, rock wall, swings and many more surprises! Plus, a special area for our youngest friends.

You might be wondering - HOW is this all possible to create in less than two months? CAN DO - you made this happen.

  • YOU donated over $15,000 worth of items including - furniture, toys, decorations, games and supplies to the new space.

  • YOU recruited 54 volunteers or volunteered yourself donating over 810 hours of service.

Special shoutouts to…

  • The Cececre Family for bringing the Backyard alive!

  • Stacy Dickman for bringing your creativity to dream up the new space!

  • Rockstar Pause volunteers for spending SO much time helping us out, especially Taylor Giltner, Heather Wells, Ryan Buckingham, Pat McCoon and Jeanne & Tom Lytle.

  • Pause Partner, Center Pointe who is generously donating the building space to Pause. (that’s an annual savings of $192,940 that Pause can use to support families!)

  • Our grant sponsors - Strong Families, Safe Communities (Ohio Department of Mental Health & Addiction Services) & Ohio Children's Trust Fund.

This is just the beginning, friends. We’re so glad you’re “all in” supporting Pause families on this journey. We can’t wait to share more opportunities for you to change a life.

This is CAN DO. This is COMMUNITY. This is YOUR SUPPORT.
