Want to be a Hero?

Traditions help us feel rooted, connected and safe. Maybe your traditions look like a fun meal every 4th of July, a favorite book around the holidays or an annual get-together every year with friends. Families with extra needs often struggle to find events and opportunities that are accessible to the whole family which can make creating traditions tricky.

In year two of our program, Pause started hosting Family Fun events to create this space for families who may otherwise not have it. Our annual drive-in movie, Back to School Bash and Holiday Shoppe allow families to do something together and these events have become predictable, consistent and fun opportunities kids and parents can look forward to. Last year, Pause added a spring family fun opportunity, the Easter Eggstravaganza as another annual event.

At last year's Easter event, one Pause family said, “It was so great to see our Pause family and have hope for more events like this one... makes things feel normal again. I loved that this was done as a family activity. Separation is hard for my kiddos and we enjoy seeing their joy at these events. Wonderful event, wonderfully done and very very very much appreciated. Thank you soo much Pause team You Rocked it!!”

The 2022 Easter Eggstravaganza is on Saturday, April 9th! Featuring a "glow in the dark" theme, Pause kids will be able to hunt for Easter eggs, win prizes, create crafts, play games and have FUN! All egg hunts are designed to meet kids at their cognitive level so every child can participate. Having volunteer buddies means parents can watch ALL of their kids having fun instead of assisting the ones who need it and gives them free hands to take those memory-making photos!

Families will also get to customize Easter baskets and the Pause team will have them ready for pick-up at the event. These sensory friendly baskets take something off the to-do list and give parents more time for rest, connection and fun with their family.

#YouGetToBeAHero: Last week the Easter Eggstravaganza event launched and within one hour, 105 kids and 200 adults registered! These are RECORD breaking Pause registration numbers and we need YOUR help to make this event possible for families!
