Join us at Thrive Night on April 5th from 5:30-9pm!

Thrive Night is a free night designed to provide a fun, safe environment for children and give you a break to recharge your battery!

Your child will be paired with volunteers whose main goal will be to spend quality time having fun and caring for them. We will have dinner, snacks, create craft projects, play games and more! It's pretty much the best thing ever if you are a kid...at least that's what they tell us!

While the kids are having a blast, the Pause team and ThrivePointe Counseling will be hosting an adult only evening of entertainment, community and education...but, not education in a 9th grade Algebra way. Because BORING...sorry math fanatics! All kidding aside, we really just want to talk about things that REALLY matter in your 24 hour day!

!!!WARNING!!!: There will be laughing. And fun. And meaningful conversations with people who get it and are in the same place you are. <GASP>

Sibling Workshop aka Sib Shop will be available for kiddos 5 and up! Siblings can have their own nuanced experiences being part of a special needs family. Sib Shop is a safe space to process the joys and hard things with peers that get it. What is new about the Pause Sib Shop? We've added more fun! Sib Shop will be it's own separate on-site event and will mimic adult Thrive Night! That means dinner, fun games and breakouts!

Join us for the Virtual Paint with Pause Event on Saturday, February 24th from 4-5pm!

Here's what you can look forward to!

Paint with other Pause families! Join in the 1-hour virtual guided instruction for kids, teens and families. We will start by reading the book "Beautiful Oops!" by Barney Saltzberg and begin painting a winter themed canvas with Pause's very own intern, Jenna, an art therapy major!

Virtual Family Fun? I've never heard of that!

Oh, get ready! Virtual Family Fun happens straight from your home! The week of the event, we will send you a Zoom link and you can join the fun from ANYWHERE!

What age is this event aimed for?

This event is great for ALL ages and perfect for kiddos cognitively ages 4+!

What supplies do I need for the event?

Before the event, we will provide each child with a "Painting Experience Kit" that includes: an animal themed printed canvas, 2 blank painting canvas, an apron, an easel, a brush set, a mixing palette, and paint. We will use one of the blank canvases during the event, the others you are welcome to use after the event for your own enjoyment!

Pick up for the kits will be TUESDAY, February 20th from 3-6:30pm. If that doesn't work for you, contact us for an alternative time.

Join us for Thrive Soul Hug: Respite for the Nervous System, a hybrid training with trauma-specializing therapist La Shanda Sugg!

There is no shortage of stress in our world. From the continued threats of an ongoing pandemic, inflation and fluctuating economy to unceasing news of death, violence, and suicide, our collective nervous systems are in constant activation (and that's on top of daily life, work, and relational stresses).

Many of us are in desperate need of a space to retreat to that allows a momentary reprieve from the constant onslaught and offers time, space, and guidance to simply 'Be and Breathe'.

We Need a Soul Hug!

This two hour Soul Hug will offer:

• A safe space to decompress

• Exercises for regulation that can be shared and duplicated

• Education about how the brain and body work

• A safe space to share vulnerably and receive informed, professional feedback

• A moment with no performance expectations - simply a moment for self-connection and community

Group Soul Hugs bring people together in a safe space and are effective at combating the shame and loneliness that often accompany challenging life experiences by uniting folks at the human level.

WHEN? Saturday, January, 20th from 1pm - 3pm

We'll see you IN-PERSON for FUN and a large group discussion with other Pause caregivers! You will enjoy a dessert bar and take home a fun SWAG BAG!

La Shanda (she/her) is a trauma-specializing therapist, liberatory coach, and training consultant. Her trauma expertise and ability to make complex concepts easy to understand make her work accessible. Her authenticity and transparency as a trauma survivor make people want to listen. La Shanda founded Labors of Love Counseling and Consulting, LLC to help organizations understand trauma and the traumatic stress of racism and other forms of oppression and help them move towards cultural humility. As a therapist and coach, she helps relationships and communities move from coping to healing.
