Sitting in the Pause

Join us for Sitting in the Pause with Sarah Buffie on May 10th at 12-1:30pm OR 7-8:30pm.

Sitting in the Pause: The why and how of developing a lens that allows us to respond instead of react in challenging situations or environments.

Pause for Parents, Play for Kids is very excited to bring you a training about the five core convictions by Sarah Buffie!

WHO IS THIS TRAINING FOR?

- Parents whose children struggle regulating their emotions,

- Professionals who work in stressful environments,

- Foster, adoptive, and kinship care families,

- Anyone who has undergone the stress of a world-wide pandemic

THE FIVE CORE CONVICTIONS:

1. Concept: Toxic stress/trauma is stored in the body.

Affirmation: Healing must start within the body.

2. Concept: Regulation is a practice.

Affirmation: Just for today.

3. Concept: Perceived threat and real threat feel the same in the body.

Affirmation: Connect before you correct.

4. Concept: Toxic stress/trauma symptoms are survival strategies.

Affirmation: It affects me, but it's not about me.

5. Concept: Healing happens in relationship.

Affirmation: I'm enough.

In this training, we will discuss:

- Why we believe these 5 core convictions,

- How we know them to be true, and

- What might we do to make use of this information.

Lead Trainer: Sarah Buffie: Awarded for her work in this arena, Sarah is one of the leading experts in childhood trauma, toxic stress and resiliency. Through her partnership with Pause, Sarah will bring compassion and education to help you THRIVE where you live, work and play.
