Did You Know?
Did you know that one of the staples of the Pause program is feedback? Pause values feedback SO much that we gather it every chance we get - after every event or opportunity we will send a survey to capture highs, lows, and opportunities for growth. We believe that the only way to truly meet families where they are is to give them voice and choice to what Pause provides. Pause continually adapts to meet the needs of all our Pause members - including families, volunteers, and community members.
Pause has seen a lot of growth since its inception in 2014 - 2100% growth of families to be exact. If you’ve been around since the beginning days of Pause, you’ll know that we have shifted and changed our programming and opportunities to meet needs. Yes, even in a global pandemic. We are continually adding more ways to support Pause families and to allow the community to give back to Pause.
Pause decided to level-up the feedback loop and expand the voices at the table. The Pause Advisory Council (PAC) has been designed to help Pause stay connected to family struggles, community resources and professional needs as they related to families served. The PAC is composed of current Pause families, volunteers and community members who bring unique voices and perspectives to the table.
The PAC members also work together to focus on fundraising events, volunteer recruitment and program marketing to keep Pause a sustainable resource for everyone. The group currently meets once per month to create action steps to help Pause reach the next milestone.
Want to know more about the newly formed PAC? We’re looking for more members to further expand the footprint of Pause. Email Jaclin Baker (pause.virtual@bcesc.org) for more information on how to get connected!
Each voice has a story. Together, we represent a collective community of hardships, joy, solutions and perspective. The voices of Pause families, volunteers and community members are needed to create long-lasting change. We invite you to be a part of changing the trajectory for special needs families. After all, everything changes when it’s someone you know.
THIS is CAN DO. This is community. This is YOUR support.
