What is Unlimited?
Pause Unlimited is a Sunday morning ministry partnership with Center Pointe aimed to create a flexible learning environment for kiddos! Just like schools accommodate different needs with IEPs and 504s, Unlimited brings that flexibility to Sunday morning. The theme of the summer is Make Waves: What you do today can change the world around you. So basically, you have the opportunity to change the world! #ThatsPrettyCool
What will my volunteer time look like?
Unlimited has grown from 4 kids to 53 since last July! Opportunities range from registration support to small group helper to leading a group of kiddos through fun stations and activities - you get to choose what you do when you register! Kids stay with us for an hour, go through three 20 minute rotations (including one in our gross motor room) and then go home. We reset and do it again for kids coming the second hour.
Why does it matter?
We all know that kiddos learn in different ways, so why not create a space for kids to learn in the way that works best for them? We are up for the challenge! We have spent thousands of hours with families and they have shared the barriers to accessing faith based programs because of the lack of accommodations or resources for kids with extra needs. We have figured out a solution and children from all over the tri-state come see us every week. Unlimited has done exactly what it was intended to do - help kids with differing needs thrive, feel successful and have fun in church!
What qualification do I need to have?
For most of our positions, you just need to be open to having fun and making kids feel loved and safe. If you lead one of our small groups or are a 1:1 buddy, we also ask that you have a faith background and are okay with leading group activities using a script and schedule we provide.
Do I have to commit to serving long term?
We know it can be hard to commit to serving long term… so try us out first! That’s why we are challenging volunteers to serve with us THREE times before they officially commit to being a Pause Impact Partner - a year round commitment. We’re confident that once you try us out, you want to come back for more! The benefits? We know the consistency and dedication of our volunteers creates the best learning environment for our kiddos. There is never any pressure though - we want you to feel good about your yes!
