Pause offers unique opportunities for interns to gain skills and experiences working with children and families.

Beneficial Experiences for Pause Interns:

Pause Family Guide
Be the first point of contact for Pause families. Help families navigate all of the resources and supports that Pause offers.

Family Conversations
Meet with families; work together to meet caregivers needs by catalyzing the community to step into the gaps communicated by caregivers.

Event Planning
Help plan and execute events such as Parent’s Night Out, Thrive Night, Family Fun events, and annual fundraising events.

Parent’s Night Out Buddy
Work one on one with a child with special needs, providing respite for caregivers at events including Parent’s Night Out and Respite On Demand.

Parent’s Night Out Leadership
Lead teams of volunteers during Pause respite events as a Zone Leader.

Leadership Experience
Gain leadership experience taking on functional job roles within the Pause program.

Legacy Project, Advocacy
Create a “legacy” at Pause working collaboratively with your fellow interns to advocate for Pause and Pause families.

Opportunities to Shadow
Wraparound meetings, parent partners, IEP meetings, Help Me Grow.

Pause Marketing Expos
Advocate for Pause in the community by sharing at expos and presenting to groups.

Pause Intern Experience 101/201
Gain new skills, learn about struggles of caregivers of children with special needs and gain a new perspective through Pause’s intensive training.
